Solidarity, 100 kilos of caps from the Fontevecchia association to the Mercy of Pescara
A useful contribution to collaborate in the purchase of health care for the Pescara Civil Hospital
A hundred kilos in total weigh the boxes that contain the "Solidarity Caps" that the Fontevecchia association will deliver to the Mercy of Pescara on Thursday, December 12 at 7 pm.
The volunteers of Mercy will receive the important "load", with Guido Di Carlo, aka "grandfather cap" and Governor Emeritus Berardino Fiorilli.
The Fontevecchia association is a small but important contribution to the purchase of headteachers for the Pescara Civil Hospital.
The handover ceremony will be held in the headquarters of Via delle Fornaci della Mercy in the presence of the president of the Fontevecchia association, Luciano Troiano, accompanied by associates and representatives of blessed Marco d'Aviano, Walking Together, The Bed City Rooms Rostelle&Co and Rusconi Library who collaborated on the collection.
"The spirit of the Fontevecchia association - underlines the partnership - is to recover the most authentic traditions of our places to re-propose them in their originality to the younger generations, therefore recovery of calendar holidays and faithful custody and re-proposing of the same. The month of November, and even more the upcoming Christmas, represent the moment that celebrates the value of the family, of being together with loved ones, but also of being sympathetic to those who are going through a difficult time in their lives, a sickness, a disagreement, an economic hardship. And it is thinking of those brothers that our associations engage during the year collecting as many plastic caps as possible to make their contribution to the activity of the Mercy of Pescara that, every year, donates a health equipment to hospitals, schools, or sports associations".
In fact, in the past years, Mercy has donated a defibrillator to the high school "Spaventa" of The City sant'Angelo purchased thanks to the collection in just 9 months of 45 tons of plastic and, in 2018, a wheelchair.
"Ours - concludes the president of Fontevecchia, Luciano Troiano - is only a small contribution to the collection of caps carried out every day by Mercy, considering that it takes 8 tons of caps just to be able to buy a wheelchair. But above all we wanted to express our thanks for the constant closeness of the Brotherhood to the activities carried out by our association, to all citizens and to those who needed it when it was necessary".
