THE TERRACOTTA NATIVITY SCENE RETURNS TO FONTEVECCHIA
THE TERRACOTTA NATIVITY SCENE RETURNS TO FONTEVECCHIA
Blessing Sunday, December 8 at 6:30 p.m.
It will be the traditional blessing of the Nativity in terracotta, made by master Tuscan artisans and illuminated by about 600 lights to characterize the Immaculate Conception, which this year falls on the second Sunday of Advent, of the Fontevecchia Association in the Borgo Case Troiano.
"The spirit of the Fontevecchia Association – recalled the members of the Association – is to recover the most authentic traditions of our places to re-propose them in their originality to the younger generations, therefore recovery of calendar holidays and faithful custody and reproposition of the same. Christmas, even more than any other celebration, is the moment that celebrates the value of the family, of being together with loved ones, but also of being sympathetic to those who are going through a difficult time in their lives, a disease, a disagreement, an economic hardship". At 6.30 p.m. at the end of the Mass celebrated in the church of the village of SS. Trinity the associates will meet in front of the Terracotta Nativity, set up, as every year to welcome those who in this period will find themselves visiting the place with a message therefore of brotherhood, welcome, communion, which, beyond sequins and sequins, brings back to what is true meaning. The Nativity scene is a work made by Tuscan artisans and set up by volunteers, with the faithful reconstruction of the Cave of the Nativity: the Nativity scene has been rebuilt in the premises of an old wood-burning oven, 2 meters high, located at the entrance of the Borgo Case Troiano, renovated and coated for the occasion using bundles of acacia stumps, olive and oak wood. Nine statues are illuminated by 600 lights. Immediately after, a meeting will be held at the membership venue for a toast of greetings and the traditional exchange of greetings.
